Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the beginning of ingestion of ration in ponds of hatchery in semi-intensive system. After the absorption of yolk sac, the post-larvae were transferred to outdoor ponds and supplied twice a day with commercial feed. At least, eight individuals of each species were collected casually one hour after the administration of ration. The specimens were anesthetized and sacrificed. Then, the alimentary canal was opened and the content analyzed. The beginning of ingestion of ration was observed in the 7th, 8th and 13th day after the eclosion for "piau", "curimba" and "pacu", respectively.
