A total of 1,456 exemplars of Anomalocardia brasiliana (Gmelin, 1791), a type of clam, was studied from twelve samples collected from April, 1977 through August, 1978, in Cardoso Island, Cananéia, São Paulo State, Brazil. Data on crowding density, reproduction time, sex-ratio, and gain of weight for each sex were analyzed and some advises on their fishery proposed.
