Limnology of Borba Reservoir (Pindamonhangaba, SP). II - ZOOPLÂNKTON

Abstract

The purpose  of this pape ris to characterize the zooplanktonic community of Borba Reservoir ,which is located at the "Estação Experimental de Piscicultura de Pindamonhangaba" and is utilized for water supply of rearing fish tanks .

Sampling was carried out at monthly intervals, from September 1981 to August 1982 , with a plankton net of 68µm mesh size  through  horizontal halls due to the shallowness of the reservoir.

It was observed that the zooplanktonic  community was largely  dorminated by rotifers, both copepods and cladocerans were less significant numerically.
