Fish culture evaluation in West of paraná state (brazil)

The objective of this study was to evaluate the social-economical practice of fish culturing conditions in the west region of Paraná. Through a field research in 58 properties, the developed activities, the area of the explored water, the cultured species, the technical and economic relations effectively practiced in the region were identified. The study emphasizes the participation of the labor in the final cost for small production models, and consumables, such as ration and hormones, in the larger models. From the obtained results, a strong potential is identified for the implementation of public politics to coordinate the fish culturing in the region, making compatible the fish culture with the respective markets, as a manner to make the activity visible in a middle range and to avoid future fortuitous social problems.
