Abstract

This work aims to contribute for the knowledge of the development of M. amazonicum and M. rosenbergii in intensive condition of feeding, with 7 kinds of commercial dry food and bovine liver "in natura". The work was done in a laboratory, in tanks containing freshwater, with biological filtration and maintenance of temperature around 28 ± 0.01oC. The changes in protein and fiber rates of the food were respectively between 16.5% and 48%, and between 0.42 and 12%. For M. amazonicum until the 8th post-larval week, the food Nutripeixe containing 30% of protein and 12% of fiber was that of best results, with 138 mg of gain of weight and 1.98:1 of conversion. Between the 8th and the 15th week, the best animal development was obtained with the food Biopostura containing 16.5% of protein and 6.5% of fiber, with gain of weight of 107 mg and 3.72:1 of conversion. For M. rosenbergii until the 6th post-larval week, the food bovine liver containing 19.9% of protein and 0.42% of fiber provided the best gain of weight (179 mg) and 1.12:1 of conversion. In general, all the foods were practicable in the cultivation of post-Iarvae of M. amazonicum and M. rosenbergii, with election over that of better price and gain of weight.
