Abstract

Data on the grade of pollution by organochlorine pesticides in lagoon/estuarine region of Cananéia are presented. Relatively high levels could already be detected. Analysis of sediments is recommended as a mean to obtain more representative results. Oysters cultivated in the region concentrated pesticides in quantities many times greater than that detected in the water.
