Abstract

Informations on the fishery fleet of Ubatuba coast, São Paulo State, Brazil were collected between 1989 and 1993 with the aim of determinate its composition, technological variation, operation dynamics and physical characterization of the production units. Restricted operation dynamics of the production units was observed due to the lack of technological improvement and regional fisheries management. This fishery fleet typology shows a high number of production units of bottom shrimp trawls operations and small technological variation, suggesting the need of a greater dynamization of technological variation as a measure in planning and regional marine environment management.
