Abstract

Slides were prepared from specimens of Plecostomus albopunctatus (Regan, 1908) and stained with Rosenfeld technique for morphological study of the blood features. Males and females fishes were analyzed considering the gonadal development. On the differential counts of leucocytes, five types of cells have been found: lymphocytes, 55.6%; neutrophils, 38.9%; monocytes, 3.3%; eosinophils, 1.2%; and basophils, 0.9%.
