Survival of juveniles of Mugil platanus Günther, 1880 (Pisces, Mugilidae) in different salinities

Abstract

Juveniles of mullet Mugil platanus were transferred directly from saltwater (30%₀) to salinities 15, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and 0%₀ in order to observe survival rate. Observations were made 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 96 hours after the beginning of the experiment. A 100% survival rate was observed in salinities 30, 15, 10 and 5%₀ after 96 hours.
