Abstract

Skipjack tuna, Katsuwonus pelamis, 1758, was studied by "Divisão de Pesca Marítima - Instituto de Pesca" and "Área de Tecnologia do Pescado - Instituto Oceanográfico - USP", through specimens caught in the South and Southeast of Brazil (20°S to 33°S), from October, 1978 to June, 1980. Data obtained included the length-weight: Pt = 6.79 x 10-6 C3.28 and gilled/gutted weight-weight: Pe = 0.87 Pt relationships. These equations should be applied only to the studied area and considered size range.
