Abstract

Billings Reservoir was studied from October 1977 to September 1978. The research was based on the investigation of some physical and chemical characteristics of the water at two stations. Station 1 was located at Rio Grande and station 2 at Rio Pequeno in São Bernardo do Campo, State of São Paulo. An attempt was made correlating phytoplankton with physical and chemical characteristics such as: temperature, color, turbidity, Secchi disc visibi1ity, electric conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, consumed oxygen, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and silica. C1imatologica1 and fluviometric factors were also considered.
