Abstract

The present study was based on zooplankton samples collected from 17 reservoirs of the State of São Paulo. Five species of Copepoda Calanoida (Argyrodiaptomus furcatus, Odontodiatomus paulistanus, Diaptomus corderoi, Notodiaptomus conifer and Notodiaptomus iheringi), and seven species of Copepoda Cyclopoida (Eucyclops serrulatus, Tropocyclops prasinus cf meridionalis, Thermocyclops crassus, Thermocyclops minutus, Metacyclops mendocinus, Mesocyclops longisetus and Microcyclops anceps) were found. Each species was described and illustrated with drawings of its important taxonomical features. This study also provides keys for the identification of the copepods; the occurrence of each species in the reservoirs and its geographical distribution are also discussed.
