Abstract

The present work deals with the populational structure of Metynnis cf. roosevelti Eigenmann, 1915 from Redonda Lagoon (Nízia Floresta - RN). The collecting period runs from April, 1987 to March, 1988. In this period, 2138 specimens were caught and analyzed. When observed, the total number of the individuals exhibited proportional sex-ratio. Males predominated significantly only in April, in April/May, and when estimated some length age classes. Specimens with a total length inferior to 2.0 and superior to 11.5 cm were not caught; females reached greater length than males. The weight/length relationship was estimated and no significant difference between males and females was observed.
