Lenght-weight relationship and size at the onset of the first sexual maturity for the Sciaenidae Stellifer rastrifer (Jordan,1889), in the coast of São Paulo State

Abstract

Length and weight data of 2 746 specimens of Stellifer rastrifer were analysed, stablishing the constants for the Wt = Φ Lt ^θ formula  (Φ = 9.05 x 10-³ and θ = 3.12). The size of the fish at the first sexual maturity was 9.7 cm (male) and 9.5 cm (female), obtained through the analysis of further 746 specimens.
