(Periodografic analysis of a time series of salinity measurements at Cananéia, SP-25ºS í 48ºW).
Keywords:
autocorrelation, harmonic analysis, salinity, CananéiaAbstract
Aiming to identify the main cyclic components of a time series of salinity measurements from Cananéia, SP (2SoS-48°W), Autocorrelation technics (Conrad and Pollak, 1962) and Harmonic Analysis (Panofsky and Brier, 1965) were applied. Through these processes, important components were defined with periods of 28 days, 14 days and 0.5 day, which coincide with periods of important components of the tidal cycle, indicating that there is a great dependence between salinity and tide in the estuarine region of Cananéia, SP.
