Abstract

Macrobrachium carcinus is a species of economic value and its culture has great interest in several countries of the world. In this work, it was estimated the mean individual fecundity of the population of Ribeira de Iguape River and its relations to the length and weight. It was verified that this species presents a high fecundity in relation to others of the same genus being, under this point of view, suitable to cultivation. The adjusted equations to express the relations fecundity/length and fecundity/weight are:
