Distribuição do agulhão negro no Atlí­¢ntico Sul e Equatorial e potencial de estratégia de manejo espacial

Resumo

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo testar simulações de fechamentos de áreas de pesca para Makaira nigricans. Foram utilizados os Modelos Aditivos Generalizados, com dados de pesca e de variáveis ambientais para determinar a interferência destes fatores na Captura por Unidade de Esforço (CPUE) do agulhão-negro. O modelo final explicou 40% da variabilidade da CPUE, com maiores registros até 50 m de profundidade e temperatura entre 27°C e 29°C. A predição espacial anual demonstrou haver uma área com CPUE mais expressiva na porção central do Atlí­¢ntico Sul. Constatou-se também heterogeneidade espacial na CPUE do agulhão-negro durante os meses do ano, com uma variação sazonal bem definida, principalmente no 1° e 4° trimestres. Portanto, duas áreas foram escolhidas para as simulações de fechamentos (A1: 15°-20°S/25°-30°W e A2: 20°-25°S/30°-35°W). A redução das capturas de agulhão-negro não afetou, na mesma proporção, as capturas da espécie-alvo (espadarte).
