Abstract

 It were determined the mean selectivity curve of gill-nets utilized in the catching of the fresh water fish "pescada do Piauí­­", Plagioscion squamosissimus, according to Gulland (1969); the relationships between total lengths (and body weights) and the internal perimeter of meshes; the annual reproductive period (Spring); and the females body length at the first sexual maturation period (20.85 cm).
