Abstract

By studying 4,479 exemplaries of Anchoviella lepidentostole (Fowler, 1911) from Registro, São Paulo State, Brazil, from July 1978 through December 1980, the first sexual maturation length was determined both for male and female individuaIs, being 88 and 94 mm respectivelly. Sexual dimorphism was observed as far as the body length is concerned: the frequency of males is higher within 105 to 107 mm body length range and the frequency of females is higher within the 123 to 125 mm range.
