(Analysis of blood plasma constituents of common carp, Cyprinus carpio,infested by Argulus sp.

Abstract

Blood plasma of Cyprinus carpio specimens infested by Argulus sp was analyzed. Samples were taken from already infested fishes, 7 days before a treatment by 0.0-dimethyl 2.2.2-trichloro 1 - hydroxyethyl phosphonate (Neguvon), and two others, 13 and 33 days after fishes being treated. No significant differences were found among glucose, total protein and Ca^{+ +} rates before and after treatment. Only Na⁺ and K⁺ rates were significant at 5% level.
