In this paper, 868 specimens of "saguiru" Curimata cf. elegans Steindachner, 1875, caught in Bariri Reservoir during the period of January 1974 to December 1976, were analyzed. The objective was to study aspects of populational structure in distinct seasons of the year and its reproductive period. It is observed in this period predominance of females (64.63%); the females attain superior length in relation to males and they are predominant in the larger length classes; the annual reproductive period (Spring and Summer) and the relationships between total length and body weight, determined to males and to females, resulted: males: W = 0.1158L2.1549, females: W = 0.0950L2.3464
