Chave para identificação das espécies de bagres marinhos (Siluriformes, Ariidae) da costa brasileira

Resumo

A identificação das espécies de bagres marinhos da famí­­lia Ariidae é problemática devido í­Â  presença de poucas caracterí­­sticas externas que permitam uma diagnose segura da espécie. Uma chave para identificação desses peixes é apresentada com uma lista sinoní­­mica atualizada das espécies. As seguintes espécies são reconhecidas em águas brasileiras: Arius rugispinis, Arius phrygiatus, Aspistor luniscutis, Aspistor parkeri, Bagre bagre, Bagre marinus, Cathorops agassizii, Cathorops arenatus, Cathorops spixii, Genidens barbus, Genidens genidens, Genidens machadoi, Genidens planifrons, Notarius grandicassis, Potamarius grandoculis, Sciades couma, Sciades emphysetus, Sciades herzbergii, Sciades passany e Sciades proops.
