The purpose of this paper is to determine the selectivity curve of gill-nets used to catch "peixe cadela", Cynopotamus humeralis, according to Gulland (1969). The result is:
c*(L)= e-0.0762(L í 2.0152 m)2
Where:
c*(L) = relative frequency of retention
L = total length of the fish
m = internal perimeter of the mesh.
It was also noticed the relationship between total length and body weight, the time of reproduction and the length of first sexual maturation of females.
