(Total, caudal end head lenghts related to the tadpole weights in metamorphosis stages in Rana catesbeiana Shaw, 1802)

NíO CONSTAAbstract
In a population of tadpoles of bullfrog the body weight was related to the developmental stages and to the body total length, to the head length and to the caudal length. The analyses of variance revealed a significant effect (P < 0.01) for the cubic component of the metamorphosis stage effect, and for the cubic components of the length effects. The data were processed by the program for the Harvey's fixed effects (1979). The obtained equations permit to evaluate the body weight through the mensuration of the studied characteristics. The maximum gain in weight occurred immediately after the stage 12 of the metamorphosis.
